Remtergarten

The Remtergarten Corvey with the unique backdrop of the twin towers of the Westwerk is integrated into the Huxarium Garden Park Höxter.

Protected by the high monastery walls, all sorts of things thrive under the twin towers of the west wing, which dates from the time of Charlemagne. Roses, magnificent herbaceous perennials and rare shrubs such as the bluebell and the handkerchief tree will make any gardener's heart beat faster. The apothecary garden illustrates the healing arts of the Benedictine monks. In the Kitchen Cabinet, visitors can trace the development of the kitchen garden and discover edible flowers. From spring to summer, the geophyte meadow is a sea of daffodils, bluebells and prairie lilies. 48,000 geophytes make the meadow bloom.

In the mild microclimate, close to the water and surrounded by the monastery wall, you can find rare woody plants from southern Germany, such as the bluebell tree, the handkerchief tree or the highly fragrant cake tree.

In May, the beds are filled with allium bulbs, and in midsummer, sunflowers meet parsley and cabbage. In autumn, the abbey garden celebrates the dahlia. The modern interpretation of the abbey garden is a delightful stop for cyclists on the Weser cycle path. Just step through the gate and you're in flower paradise.
