Graduation works Kneipp pool/water treading

One of the attractions directly linked to the history of the town of Salzkotten and its salt production is the more than 50-metre-long graduation house, which the town of Salzkotten rebuilt in 1997 in its historical location in the immediate vicinity of the Sälzerhalle.

The facility is fed with brine water from the nearby "Neuer Sprudel" spring. In addition to the graduation tower, there is a treading pool and arm pool for Kneipp treatments.

The Sültsoid nature reserve can be reached to the south through the Heder floodplain along the River Heder. The approx. 16-hectare spring swamp area with brine springs has a diverse salt flora that is unique in this region.

A 2.5 km long nature trail provides information about this extraordinary gem, where salt-loving plants grow that are otherwise only found on the seashore.

Information boards provide information about the geology, flora and fauna. From there, the trail continues south to the Heder spring area in Upsprunge.
