    The climatic health resort of Lage-Hörste allows hikers and walkers to get to know a section of the Hermannsweg in a different way: 20 literary stations invite you to linger and convey lyrical thoughts on topics such as nature, the environment, etc. The texts are exchanged every two years.

    Recommended by the OWL transport association as a route that is easy to reach by public transport!

    2.5 km of the Hermann Trail are accompanied by lyrical thoughts: the poems were written by members of the two authors' groups "Garden of Poetry" and "LipPen" and are updated every two years. If there is interest, special literary walks along the Hermannsweg are also offered. This offer is extended with readings in the climatic health resort. Two reading stations have been set up as rest stops with boulders and stone blocks. These lingering stations invite walkers and hikers to sit down and reflect on what they have read.

    A flyer provides an overview of where the reading and resting stations are located and which poems await walkers and hikers there. This flyer is available free of charge at the start and finish points, i.e. in the Bienen-Schmidt forest restaurant and in the Haus des Gastes.

    This literary hiking trail also sees itself as an active contribution to environmental protection. Walkers and hikers who take this trail are encouraged by the route guidance to stay on the Hermannsweg and not to go cross-country through the forest on their own.

    The literary hiking trail begins at the Bienen-Schmidt forest restaurant: the first 10 reading stations are located on the Hermannsweg, which you follow until the junction to Hörste. At the junction, keep left in the direction of "Haus des Gastes". After the sports field, which is on the left-hand side, turn right into the Hörste forest spa park. There is a small literary trail with seven stations in the Waldkurpark.

    In winter, the Hermannsweg is sometimes slippery.

    Clothing suitable for the weather and sturdy shoes.

    Leave the A2 freeway at the Bielefeld-Zentrum exit and stay on the B66 federal highway in the direction of Lage. In Helpup, turn right towards Stapelage. In Stapelage, keep right opposite the church and follow the signs to Waldgaststätte Bienen-Schmidt.

    Take bus no. 951 from Lage (Lippe) station to the "Haus Stapelage" stop. From there it is about 15 minutes on foot.
