Hansehaus

The mayor Rudolf Vogt had the brick gabled house built on the grounds of the Martinistift in 1547.

The so-called "Hansehaus" was extended in 1628 with a Renaissance addition and a bay window. Before 1900, the stepped gables had been removed and the house plastered over.
The restoration (1969-1973) initiated by a citizens' initiative restored the house to its original state.
The house is now seen as the last example of the numerous brick town houses with stepped gables that once stood in Minden.
