Unspoiled nature to an extent resembling the Everglades is what appeals to canoeists. Over 300 kilometres of navigable streams unite into a blue labyrinth in the UNESCO biosphere reserve. Picturesque villages are hidden between the sparse woods where until the present day Sorbian villagers have kept their unique traditions alive.

Route: River Spree (main river), “Lehder Graben”, “Bürgerflies”, “Großes Fließ”, River Spree (main river)

Water profile: Unique water labyrinth, 300 kilometres of streams navigable. Mind the nature conservation. Waterways in core zone must not be departed from and single streams not be navigated; permission to paddle until 1 hour after sunset only; no motorboat allowed until Leibsch; Spreewald barges always have priority; many streams branching off; numerous smaller manually operated locks, partly outfitted with boot ramps.

Length: 42 km / 2-3 days
