Bold City, Brave Decisions

This traveling exhibition opens up inspiring
insights into the building culture of the Netherlands in the Haseschacht building of the MIK. It explores what it takes to design liveable

cities of the future: Courage, staying power and foresight to think ahead about social change. The city of Groningen in the north of the Netherlands has courageously made difficult decisions and achieved a spatial quality that is remarkable throughout Europe. In attractiveness rankings, the city of around 240,000 inhabitants performs very well. Groningen is sustainable, resilient, compact and vibrant. The exhibition shows the steps the city and its population have taken. It was conceived by the urban planning and architecture firm De Zwarte Hond, which played a key role in shaping Groningen.
