Musicals in the open air - this idea started the success story of the Waldbühne Ahmsen in 1949, which is the best-attended open-air stage in Lower Saxony. In addition to a religiously-oriented play, a children's musical is also on the program every year between the end of May and the beginning of September. The well-equipped stage, which also has an acoustic ceiling, is also popular for guest events such as the "Summer Night Concert" by Sporthilfe Emsland with the Big Band Bösel and the well-known "Musical Night".

In all these years, no event has ever been canceled due to bad weather. And as the auditorium has been covered since 2007, this is unlikely to change any time soon.
