Stadt Dissen am Teutoburger Wald

The small town between the Teutoburg Forest and the Bay of Münster has around 9,500 inhabitants.

The town council of Dissen a.T.W is based in the town hall (and the citizens' office in the adjacent building), a historic Meierhof that was built as early as 780 by Charlemagne for his local administrative official.

One of the highlights of this industrial town in the countryside is the town center. Extensive urban redevelopment has played its part in bringing the historic image of old Dissen back to life. 
Dissen is now considered a center of good taste. Margarine has been produced in Dissen since 1882. Since then, various companies have been producing delicatessen, spices, meat and sausage products. Dissen is also known for its beautiful nature and its atmospheric festivals and events.
