The Hagen potteries supplied the entire region with their tableware for 500 years.
This history is kept alive in the old vicarage of the holiday resort. And the Niehenke pottery is the last business in the whole of north-west Germany to keep this tradition alive to this day. There are two things you should not miss in Hagen a.T.W: Cherry blossom and cherry harvest. In addition to the famous annual international equestrian event "Horses & Dreams", almost everything in the municipality revolves around the delicious red fruit. There is a cherry cycle route that connects sweet fruit, pottery and Hüggel gnomes over a distance of around 27 kilometres, several cherry hiking trails, a nature trail and a cherry mother garden with old varieties. Traditionally, a cherry queen is also crowned.
The trout valley is also known far beyond the city - here, freshly caught trout is served directly onto your plate.
Hiking enthusiasts have four TERRA.tracks to choose from, which can be easily completed in up to two hours: Borgberg, Butterberg, Orchideenwiese and Achter de Welt. Plenty of choice for a short holiday!
