Contemplative laying on of hands according to the Open Hands School
An introductory course
The laying on of hands is anchored in many cultures, traditions and faiths. It also plays a central role in the Christian tradition. Jesus laid his hands, healed and blessed. He passed on the commission to heal and bless to his disciples.
The tradition of the Open Hands School, which sees itself as interfaith, is based on this instruction from Jesus.
We practise an inner attitude of loving presence, respect, patience and trust in which we lay hands on ourselves and others.
Contemplative prayer and mindfulness bring us into contact with our own inner source and open us up to divine healing love.
