Heat pump - or is there a better alternative? Insulation - yes, but how? And what is the best way to get funding for my investments in the future? Birgit Wordtmann from the Lower Saxony Consumer Advice Center will answer all these questions on four dates at Georgsmarienhütte Town Hall. It starts on April 24 with the topic "New heating - heat pumps and their alternatives". Admission is free.

"With this four-part series, we want to cover the major topics of heating, insulation and funding," explains climate protection manager Gesche Wiggers. "Because only with the necessary knowledge is it possible to be future-proof." Small tricks or the right funding program can already be a big step towards energy-efficient renovation.

At the kick-off in April, energy consultant Birgit Wordtmann will provide insights into the technical basics of the various types of heat pumps, alternative heating technologies and will also discuss costs and funding opportunities based on the new guidelines of the Building Energy Act (GEG). The event continues on May 12 with the topic of saving energy, specifically for women with a migration background. Together with the Equal Opportunities Officer Susanne Häring, the aim is to create a targeted offer, with interpreters in various languages on site. In the municipal "canteen", Birgit Wordtmann and Anke Vonhoff-Rickelt will give everyday examples of how to save energy or talk through existing bills with the participants in order to show them individually where there is potential for savings.

After the summer vacations, the event will continue on August 18 with retrofitted insulation. Too hot in summer? That doesn't have to be the case, says the energy expert and shows how sun and heat protection can work by optimizing the building envelope. Finally, on November 19, Wordtmann will help you keep track of the funding jungle and explain how citizens can build and renovate in an energy-efficient and subsidized way.

By the way: The free energy consultation from the Lower Saxony consumer advice center continues to take place every first Tuesday of the month in the town hall of Georgsmarienhütte. From 3 to 7 p.m., energy expert Birgit Wordtmann provides free, individual and provider-independent advice in person at the town hall, Oeseder Straße 85. Registrations can be made by calling the free telephone number 0800 809 802 400.

All events start at 6 pm and take place in Georgsmarienhütte Town Hall. Registration is not necessary, all presentations last around two hours and are free of charge. Climate protection manager Gesche Wiggers will be happy to answer any questions on 05401 850-226 or by email to gesche.wiggers@georgsmarienhuette.de.
