Funfair meets live music - Hüttenmarkt 2025 with a varied program
Once a year, Hindenburgstraße in the Alt-Georgsmarienhütte district is transformed into a colorful funfair and concert mile at the Hüttenmarkt - from 23 to 25 May 2025, it's that time again. Visitors can look forward to culinary delights, fun and games for children and thrilling music and show acts.
The three-day event kicks off on Friday afternoon from 3 pm with the "Happy Hour" in the children's rides, where young visitors to the market can take a spin on the carousels for three hours at discounted prices. If you fancy a sporty game of skill afterwards or in between, the soccer darts organized by the Open Youth Work at the southern end of Hindenburgstraße is the place to be. In the middle of the event mile, Mayor Dagmar Bahlo will officially open the 40th edition of the traditional festival on the "Wörmann-Kramer" stage at 6 pm. Afterwards, the band "Max" will provide the first musical highlight at the same location from 8 pm. The top 40 band from Vechta has been on stage for many years and ensures the best party atmosphere with their energetic shows and musical variety. The second highlight of the day will be the big fireworks display. At around 10.30 pm, they will light up the evening sky over Alt-Georgsmarienhütte.
On Saturday, the Hüttenmarkt starts at 2 pm with a wide range of activities for children. Bouncy castles, face painting and small play equipment to explore and try out invite you to visit. In addition, the St. Georg daycare center's support association will be offering an extensive cake buffet. From 5 p.m. onwards, things get humorous and magical. "Humor in black and white" is the name of the program by the street artist duo "Monsieur & the lady at the piano", which is completely without words, visually stunning, impressive and hilarious - a bit like a silent movie. In the evening, there will be a double bill of music: on the "Wörmann-Kramer" stage, the "Burning Guitars" will take the best party tracks and classics of the past 50 years out of the record cabinet from 8 p.m. and in the Kolpinghaus, visitors can look forward to "Odyssee", which, as the name suggests, will offer the audience a musical odyssey from pop hits to party songs to the latest hits. The Kolpinghaus will also kick off at 8 pm.
Sunday will then be all about family entertainment. As on Saturday, there will be bouncy castles and small play equipment, face painting and balloon artist Frank Boss will be creating funny animals. Thanks to the efforts of the "Haus der kleinen Füße" children's daycare center, cakes will also be provided again.
The program starts with the opening of the market at 2 pm. Afterwards, at 3.30 pm, the "Wörmann-Kramer" stage will be transformed into a theater stage. First, the story of Pettersson and Findus will be brought to life by the puppet theater, before Frank Boss will amaze the audience with his magic show.
In addition to the program, the hut market offers visitors a wide range of food stands with cool drinks or one or two culinary delicacies during opening hours. The odd ride on the carousels is also a must.
