National park Information point in Spiegelau with beetle exhibition
The information point Spiegelau surprises with an unique exhibition covering beetle species from around the world. Fridolin Apfelbacher collected roughly 2000 of them. For over 30 years he researched about the beetles in the bavarian forest. He mapped their occurrence and created an enormous collection. He successfully proved the existence of some very rare species for the region. In 2010 he donated his collection the Bavarian Forest National Park to display it permanently to the public.
