experience of nature

Many hiking trails intersect at the idyllic Tummelplatz.

The Tummelplatz is located northwest of Mauth at an altitude of 1130 meters above sea level and has a surface of 2.6 hectare. The Tummelplatz, which was used as a forest pasture by the Glashüttengut Schönbrunn and farmers from Kirchl, was first mentioned in 1809. The still existing wooden house was built in 1860 and inhabited by forestry workers until 1956. Today, the building of the Bavarian Forest National Park Administration serves as a research station. The Tummelplatz with its idyllic location is a great place for a rest. From there, hiking trails lead in several other directions, like towards Lusen, Finsterau or Mauth.
