Memorial experience of nature

The source of river Vltava is located right behind the German-Czech border.

The Vltava is considered as the mother of all Czech rivers and is the longest stream in the Czech Republic. Its name comes from the Germanic "Wilth-ahwa" - "wild water". The Warm Vltava arises on the eastern slope of  Schwarzberg (Černá hora). Here, the Vltava River starts its journey towards the Elbe. The symbolic surround of the source is accessible via a board walk. When the Warm Vltava  joins the Cold Vltava at Tote Au (Mrtvý Luh), the river is simply called Vltava (German: Moldau).
