Schutzhaus

The mountain hut in the Bavarian Forest National Park is just below the summit of the Lusen.

The Lusenschutzhaus was planned and built by the Grafenau section of Bayerischer Wald-Verein. A water spring at the southern edge of the Lusen tip was the decisive factor for the positioning. Granite could be found there as well. Since the completion in 1937, the shelter and its infrastructure have been improved continuously. In addition to food and drinks for hikers during the summer months, there is a night accommodation today as well.
