Learning Path

The peculiarities of raised bogs can be seen up close due to a boardwalk.

"Filz" is the Bavarian designation for a raised bog. Großer Filz and Klosterfilz in combination form one of the largest bog complexes within the Bavarian Forest. It is an important retreat for rare plant and animal species such as sundew or wild rosemary. The trail runs partly on boardwalks because of the particularly sensitive vegetation cover.
