Exhibition

Follow the howling of wolves, get up close to a brown bear or linger in the roots of a giant tree: From March 20, 2026 the new exhibition "Mythos Wald" will bring the fascinating diversity of our wooded landscapes and their enigmatic inhabitants to life in the Gasometer.

"Mythos Wald" provides an intensive look at the forests of our earth - emotionally
emotional, surprising, captivating, explanatory and always scientifically
well-founded. In different exhibition chapters, the Gasometer shows forest areas from Brazil to the Congo to Europe and is dedicated to the unique diversity of flora and fauna, but also to the indigenous peoples whose habitat in the forest is becoming ever smaller. Of course, the show also documents the dramatic consequences of the destruction of this vital ecosystem through slash-and-burn agriculture.

With "The Tree", visitors on the upper floor are offered a unique view from the optically designed root system into the abstract treetop rising 40 meters into the sky of the gasometer - an art installation that has never been realized before.
