Museum/Collection Historical Site Arts Centre Craft

The museum has been documenting the cultural history of Schleswig-Holstein for more than 50 years.

On the 40-hectare site, 60 historic buildings from the 16th to 20th centuries from various parts of the country as well as the Danish border region are presented in the context of an evolved cultural landscape.

Special exhibitions and events - from large markets, theater performances and concerts to lectures - attract thousands of visitors every year.

Please note that in extreme weather conditions the museum may be closed during normal opening hours. Our service team will be happy to inform you about current changes.

You are welcome to bring your dog with you. Out of consideration for the visitors and the animals living in the area, please keep him on a leash and remove any dirt.

Smoking and any handling of open fire is not permitted on the entire museum grounds for fire protection reasons. Smoking areas can be found at the Torhaus, at the fair and in the garden of the dairy.

Sanitary facilities are available in the Torhaus, in the Winkelscheune, at the fair and at the Meierei.
