"Music School for All"

The Musikschule Kiel is an independent institute within the Office for Culture and Continuing Education of the City of Kiel and a member of the Association of German Music Schools (VdM-Status). As a general music school with a study department, it offers instruction in music practice and theory for children, young people and adults.
What began more than 50 years ago very modestly in the form of music courses at the Kiel Adult Education Centre has long since developed into a contemporary "Music School for All".

The range of courses offered by the Kiel Music School includes a holistic basic musical education, a wide range of instrumental and vocal subjects in classes, groups and individual lessons, and a variety of ensemble subjects with different instrumentations and styles. Individual progress is integrated into joint music-making practice.

The pupils are also prepared for making music outside the music school in the family, the general school, the association and other forms of making music.
 
The Music School Kiel is divided into two departments:

• General music school with study department
• Pop music school with study department
