Bereits der Einstieg führt in eine Landschaft, die sich rasch von urbaner Umgebung in stille Waldpfade verwandelt. Mit jedem Höhenmeter öffnet sich ein weiter Blick über das Tal, während der Weg über wurzelige Abschnitte, sanfte Anstiege und kurze technische Passagen abwechslungsreiche Laufreize setzt. Das besondere Heilklima unterstützt die Belastung durch seine klare, allergenarme Bergluft und verleiht dem Lauf eine erfrischende Leichtigkeit. Die Felsenkanzel selbst belohnt mit einer eindrucksvollen Aussicht auf die umliegenden Gipfelketten, die sich in ihrer ganzen Weite präsentieren. Dieser Moment schafft eine Atmosphäre, in der Anstrengung und Naturerlebnis zu einer intensiven Einheit verschmelzen. Der Rückweg führt erneut durch das ruhige Waldgelände und bietet Gelegenheit, den Lauf fließend ausklingen zu lassen. Für eine entspannte Pause nach der Tour steht eine Einkehrmöglichkeit in der Umgebung zur Verfügung, ideal für eine Stärkung oder ein erholsames Getränk nach dem sportlichen Erlebnis.     Your tour starts at Richard-Strauss-Platz Garmisch-Partenkirchen. You first walk through the pedestrian zone and after approx. 200 metres turn right into Fürstenstraße. At the end, cross the road at the Loisachbrücke bridge and turn right into Loisachstraße, then right into Kramerstraße. Follow the road straight ahead until you come to a small path uphill.

    When you reach the fork in the path, continue uphill towards Kellerleitensteig.

    From here, the route continues on a beautiful natural path, peppered with steps, roots, gravel, uphill and flat sections. As soon as you have left the next 850 metres and 100 vertical metres on the trail behind you, keep left in the direction of ‘Grasberg’, where you can take a breather, as you have a relaxed stretch ahead of you until you reach the forest road.

    As soon as you reach the junction with the forest road, turn right and enjoy the continuous ascent from now on. The almost 100 metres in altitude to St. Martinshütte are quickly mastered.

    Follow the signs in the direction of ‘Königsstand’ and keep right. You now have 170 metres of ascent ahead of you on the Kramersteig trail, which leads you to the Felsenkanzel. A unique view over Garmisch-Partenkirchen awaits you and rewards you for your efforts.

    After a short rest, you can now make your way back. This takes you back down into the valley along almost the same route. Your downhill flow will not be disturbed by any junctions, simply follow the path until just before the war memorial chapel, keep left there and you will return directly to the starting point. 

    Make sure you take lots of small steps on the climbs to regulate your heart rate and breathing and ensure you still have enough oxygen in your brain to enjoy the impressive panorama.

    Plan a short break on the way down at the St. Martinshütte. The panorama is incredibly impressive

    Are you new to trail running? No problem, of course you don't have to run all the way up the climbs, you can always incorporate walking sections. I recommend a 2 to 3 rhythm, 2 min run, 3 min walk.
