Luhe-Radweg - Teilabschnitt Winsener Elbmarsch

The Luhe cycle path leads from the source of the Luhe near Bispingen all the way to Hoopte on the Elbe

Before it reaches Winsen and the Elbmarsch,

the cycle path follows the Luhe through a hilly landscape with large agricultural areas, forests and heathland.

The section along the Luhe Canal, for example, is a popular destination for local excursions. On its way through Winsen (Luhe), the river flows close to the castle, the town's landmark. 

Other buildings worth seeing in the lively town center are the historic town hall and St. Mary's Church. The Stöckter dyke begins just behind the town center. From the dyke, you have a wide view over the countryside. The course of the river and the area where it flows into the Ilmenau are overgrown with reeds, which are home to many water birds. The Stöckter dyke leads past the marina and ends at Stöckter Hafen. The Luhe cycle path continues to Elbuferstraße, where it meets the Elbe cycle path. A few hundred meters further on is the Hoopte ferry landing stage. From there, you can cross over to Zollenspieker (Hamburg).
