Church

Der Dom St. Servatii in Quedlinburg ist eines der 88 Bauwerke der Straße der Romanik in Sachsen-Anhalt.

The walls of the collegiate church of St. Servatius embrace one of the most important and artistically priceless churches of mediaeval times. Consecrated in 1129, the flat-ceilinged basilica was built on the site of three earlier structures. Definite Lombardy influences are apparent in both the façade and the interior ornamentation of the monumental sandstone building. A staircase in the east leads to the high choir and to the treasury, where the celebrated 1000-year-old cathedral treasure is on display. For a long time, much of it was thought to have been lost in 1945, but since 1994 it has been possible to marvel at it once again in its ancestral home. Dates can be arranged for groups all year round on request.
