Wegbeschreibung
After overcoming 144 meters in altitude, the castle ruins are enthroned at a height of approx. 460 m on a mountain spur. An impressive and wonderful view of the Brocken mountain and the Wurmberg mountain is offered to the hiker. First mentioned in a document in 1312, today only the remains of the keep and several ditches and ramparts can be seen. In an easterly direction, it now goes down the slope into the Bodetal valley. Here you come to the main hiking trail (section of the Harzer-Hexen-Stieges) and keep to the right along the river, which later flows into the dam.
Now you follow the path along the lake to a shelter, pass the transfer tunnel and a few hundred meters further you come to the dam. It is known as the "Trogfurther Bridge" transfer barrier. The hiker has an idyllic view of the lake on the left and the river Bode on the right. There is another stamping point at the Trogfurther Bridge.
After hiking over the dam wall, keep left at the fork in the path and continue the hike to return to Königshütte. You always stay on the main path, where you pass three small tributaries. You can get to the village itself via the Bodetalstraße, which you follow to the Katzenberg (bridge).
Once there, you have the option of crossing the road and following the field cliff for about 150 m to visit the playground with your child(ren) or to cross the Bode bridge on the left and immediately left again to get to the starting point of the hike return to the Tanner Strasse car park.
