Picturesque is probably the best description for the landscape on the 7th stage of the Lahnradweg. You cycle past rocks and through wooded countryside.

The Lahn meanders through wooded slopes and glistens in the sunlight. The village of Balduinstein complements the dreamlike scenery and the route continues in a relaxed manner to Laurenburg via Geilnau using two newly built cycle and pedestrian bridges. From Laurenburg, the Lahnradweg continues to Obernhof, constantly touching the Lahn. A place with a long wine-growing tradition. This tradition has recently undergone a real renaissance in the form of a civic vineyard. A bottle of Riesling or Pinot Noir is sure to fit in your pannier. You now continue through the nature park to Nassau with Nassau-Oranien Castle perched high on the mountain. Here, too, it's worth stopping for a bite to eat in one of the lovely cafés and restaurants in the lively town centre.

From the old Lahn bridge in Limburg, you cycle comfortably along the left bank of the Lahn, leaving Hesse at Staffel and cycling through Rhineland-Palatinate. The Oranier town of Diez welcomes you with two castles worth seeing, but also with one of the few noticeable climbs. Both castles, Oranienstein Castle and the Count's Castle, are home to interesting museums and, as in Limburg, Diez also boasts romantic half-timbered facades, cosy cafés and restaurants.

You also leave Diez via a bridge. At the end of the "Alte Lahnbrücke" cycle and foot bridge, keep right and follow the bend down to the Lahn. Follow the signs for the Lahnradweg and cycle along the right bank of the Lahn. On hot days, you should treat yourself to a refreshing dip in the Diez quarry pond and continue leisurely along the Lahn to Balduinstein. The small village complements the marvellous landscape and via Geilnau, the route continues in a relaxed manner over two newly built cycle and pedestrian bridges to Laurenburg.

From Laurenburg, you also keep to the Lahn and cycle parallel to the B417 through the Lahn valley to Obernhof. The wine-growing tradition is upheld here and you are sure to find a wine bar where you can sample a glass of wine. In Obernhof, you cross the Lahn bridge to the other bank of the Lahn and have a short climb to Arnstein Monastery.

From the monastery, you cycle comfortably along the left bank of the Lahn through the Hollerich lock nature reserve. Nassau is then reached, how could it be otherwise, via another impressive Lahn bridge. The town in the heart of the Nassau Nature Park offers plenty of opportunity to refresh body and soul after the not entirely strenuous cycle tour.

The Lahnradweg runs mainly on cycle paths, quiet side roads and country lanes. However, please observe the road traffic regulations and show consideration for other cyclists, agricultural vehicles and pedestrians.

Trekking or touring bike (e-bike or conventional), spare inner tube and tools, water bottle and clothing suitable for the weather.

Don't forget your swimming trunks! The Diez quarry pond is popular because of its wild romance. The crystal-clear lake is surrounded by steep cliffs.
