This stage provides a lot of pure peace and quiet. Before arriving at Weilburg city, a real highlight awaits you as soon as you reach the Ernst-Dienstbach footbridge which was originally built as a wooden water pipeline bridge in 1706.

The most beautiful view can be enjoyed from the Feldbergblick. If you have good weather conditions, the Großer Feldberg, which is the highest mountain of the Taunus, can be seen.

This section of the route offers a lot of peace and nature. Hikers can listen to the sounds of the forest and scent the meadows.

From the Lahn bridge in Aumenau, the route first guides you along the river Lahn. Afterwards you will be taken steeply upwards to the edge of the forest. A long passage through the forest finally leads to the small hamlet of Falkenbach.

Walk past its left side and continue your way through orchards and meadows until you reach another passage that runs through the forest. Before arriving at Gräveneck, you will cross the small idyllic Wirbelau brook and the L3452. In the forest near Gräveneck, we recommend a detour to the Wittekindstollen where local mining history is ever-present. From there, the trail leads upwards to a small pond where you can have a rest on some benches.

After crossing the K490 (be careful here!) you will get to the Feldbergblick viewpoint Through the woods and past the Eschenbörnchen (little well of the ash tree), you will now head towards Weilburg. The refuge "Am Steinbühl" offers another resting place and by then, you have almost made it to Weilburg.

A small pavilion provides a beautiful view of the town. This spot is made for taking pictures! After another short descent you are back at the Lahn riverside. Walking on wooden planks directly alongside the rock will be an incredible experience. You will finally arrive at Weilburg, using the Ernst-Dienstbachsteg. After climbing up the stairs, you will arrive at the stage’s destination "Am Denkmal" in Weilburg.

For information on diversions and relocations, please see our "Current Information".

Information on restrictions in the rail network can be found here.

Ordinary hiking equipment required. Take backpack vespers and drinks with you.

Make a stop at the small pavilion high above the river Lahn which provides a wonderful view of Weilburg to take some pictures.
