The silhouette of St Gall’s (or Gallus’) church dominates Flörsheim’s skyline. Three buildings previously stood on the site of the current building from 1766. Today’s halltype church has two galleries and is characteristic of rural late-Baroque church architecture. Its side altars are by Johann Christian Georg Schütz the Elder. The oldest parts of its Baroque organ date back to the Mainz master organ-builder, Dahm, who worked for Mainz Cathedral, Eberbach Monastery, and others. The St Gall’s Church organ is considered to be his largest surviving work. It is used when the church hosts the nationally renowned Gallus Concerts, whose vocal, orchestral and Advent performances have been delighting audiences since 1980.
