The Klausenhof is one of the oldest buildings in the Black Forest. Even today, the structure dating from 1424 gives the impression of having been abandoned by its last inhabitants only yesterday.
This is not a museum in the conventional sense, but a living space awaiting discovery by visitors. The living quarters and working area are under one straw-covered roofand adjoin the Lindauer Säge sawmill, which was in service until 1950 and remains in working order today. Visitors will also find a farm vehicle shed, cottage garden and a bakehouse.
