Dillturm Tower Dillenburg

The fortified tower on the Dill is part of the former city fortifications.

Together with the Grabenturm and Köppelturm towers (in the north-west of the town), the defence tower on the River Dill formed part of the town’s former fortifications.

Even today, the remains of the former town wall can be seen around the tower. Work on this wall had begun back in 1580 but it was only completed in 1620 after multiple interruptions due to financial shortages.
