Our family has been growing wine here in Gleisweiler for generations. In 1954, the first wine was sold in bottles. In the meantime, we are the only winery in Gleisweiler that is still located in the old village center. With the construction of our new vinotheque, we have had a modern salesroom with a magnificent view over the Rhine plain since 2012.
Our family has been growing wine for generations. While in the beginning only wine was sold in barrels, Georg Argus started bottling as early as 1954. Since 1994, Peter and Eva Argus have been steering the fortunes of the winery and have constantly developed it further. Our vineyards are located in Gleisweiler and the immediately adjacent communities. The terroir at the edge of the forest is characterized by the red sandstone soil. Here our Riesling vines feel at home. Towards the Rhine plain, there are always islands with clay soil and shell limestone deposits, an ideal basis for Burgundy vines.
